SQL Solutions is experienced providing data solutions for
engineering and science disciplines.
Data Management
- Database
design – relational databases designed using MS SQL Server and MS Access.
- Data
migration – process executed using techniques to minimize disruption to
ongoing data needs; developed Data Transformation Service (DTS) packages
in SQL Server to expedite migrations and to allow reproducibility.
- Data
reporting – custom report and charting development using Crystal Reports,
MS Access, MS Excel and other third party software.
- Database
user interface – developed graphical user interfaces to databases to
simplify data entry and data retrieval using MS Visual Basic.
- Earthsoft
data management – full life cycle environmental and geological data
management
- Provide
insight and guidance to an organization that plans to adopt an
environmental data management system or migrate from an existing database
to Equis.
- Outline
appropriate field data collection and recording procedures to allow
accurate and complete information to be captured.
- Electronic
Data Deliverable (EDD) custom development for an organization’s unique
data requirements.
- Act
as liaison to laboratories to assist in the generation of accurate and
complete EDDs.
- Provide
EquisChemistry and EquisGeology management and customization.
- Preparation
of Equis and laboratory checking software: ELDC and EDP to allow only the
organization’s valid values and incorporate other business rules.
- Discharge
Monitor Reporting (DMR) – Permit tracking software customization for
state agency’s requirements, permitting data migration into DMR,
development of report definitions, and EDD development and import.
- Provide
general or client-specific training for Earthsoft’s suite of software
products.
Programming
- Perform
complex calculations for engineering applications.
- Task
automation – using code to process large amounts of data, process data
files, generate a large number of charts, etc.
- User
interface to databases – simplify access to reports and charts as well as
providing simplified data entry options.
Statistical Analysis
- Hypothesis
testing – utilize parametric and nonparametric statistical methods to
evaluate trends in data at a single location or between two locations.
- Landfill
compliance monitoring – statistically evaluate concentrations of key
analytes and whether they are significantly different between up-gradient
and down-gradient groundwater locations.
- Computation
of statistical parameters for large data sets and defining confidence
intervals about the statistical parameters.
- Sample
size determination – using statistical methods to determine appropriate
sample size for sampling programs.
- Data
distribution – determination of the underlying distribution of a dataset
(normal, etc) using statistical methods and appropriate levels of
confidence.
Data Visualization
- GIS –
development of ArcView GIS applications to present data in conjunction
with base maps and aerial photography.
- Animation
– development of 2 and 3-dimensional animations of concentration data; film
loop development to illustrate contaminant plume reduction through
remediation or natural attenuation.
- Groundwater
modeling – development of mathematical models to represent and
characterize the hydrogeology of the site and predict changes in water
levels or contaminant levels under various conditions.
